General Information

Liverpool is a city of international renown, with an instantly recognisable waterfront, magnificent architecture and a host of impressive cultural attractions.

Focus 2009 will be held in the stunning state of the art Arena and Conference Centre Liverpool (ACCL) which is situated on the Mersey river waterfront, adjacent to the famous Albert Dock world heritage site.

Adjoining ACCL and an integral part of the overall development are two new hotels, retail outlets and a multi storey car park. The ACCL is also within walking distance of the restaurants, bars and shops of Liverpool city centre.

Travel

Located right in the centre of the commercial and cultural hub that is England's North West, getting to Liverpool is simple and quick. Liverpool is well served with excellent transport links by road, rail and air.

By road

Liverpool is easily reached via the M62, M58, M56 motorways.

By rail

Liverpool Lime Street railway station, which connects with the major cities and towns in the UK, is only minutes away from the ACCL.

By air

Flights are available to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, 8 miles south of the city centre or alternatively Manchester airport is less than an hour away and is directly linked to Liverpool's city centre by both rail and coach. There are regular shuttle flights into Manchester from Britain's other major airports including Gatwick and Heathrow.
